I was the kid who grew up, literally grew up in the television station. So he was always a big part of broadcasting and he never stopped singing. He was a theater critic on CKXM, which I think became the Bear, I'm pretty sure and he was the color and play by play guy for the Edmonton Drillers and the NASL. He started working there in the 50s and he never got rid of that performance bug. So my parents, obviously a fairly theatrical family, but once they came to Canada, my father was also a sign painter in Manchester, England, and came over and they needed an artist at CFRNTV, now, CTV Edmonton. But before they came over, my father sang opera and my mother was a Chorus Line dancer. So my parents emigrated from England in the 50s. But you're a second generation broadcaster. I didn't know this, and I feel like I should have known this. So my home is Minneapolis, but I grew up in Edmonton. I always tell people where my home is, is wherever my wife and family is. We've seen where your friends used to live. And now my daughters are like, no, we're good. And it got to the point where we would visit Edmonton and I'd say, hey, let's drive around the old neighborhood. Every time we would go back with my daughters for something to go and see family, we'd go around the neighborhood. I think it's going through a bit of a gentrification. So it was one of those neat, cool neighborhoods and now it's kind of one of, the neighborhoods that I think time is sort of forgotten. I grew up in a Rio Terrace, which back in the day was I think it was developed when I was born in the mid 60s. The screen is a large display that uses SurePress technology from RIM that makes it feel like using a physical thumb board when you type on the screen. The Storm is unusual for a Blackberry as it lacks a physical keyboard of any kind. Now that that iPhone has made touch screens cool, RIM is jumping on the bandwagon. If you believe everything reviewers say, then you gotta wonder: Why has RIM only gotten around to making BlackBerrys like the Storm (and the Bold) now? I think it was due to a lack of imagination - and fear of taking risks. Verizon (s vz) seems to have orchestrated a nice launch and the early reviews give the Storm a thumbs up. And oh by the way, RIM got rid of the the keyboard and got itself a touch screen. So, what’s the buzz about? THE MID-SIZED, OPEN-CLASS BIKE IS REALLY NOT A RARE BIRD IN LIGHT OF THE SPECTRUM OF MOTOCROSS HISTORY. Included in this list of diminutive race bikes are the 360cc and 370cc machines used to great effect by Roger DeCoster during his heyday-the 360 Huskys of the Swedish ironmen, the 340cc Rokon Cobra automatic of Don Kudalski and, as recently as 13 years ago, the Yamaha YZ400 of 1998 AMA National Champion Doug Henry. Many of the iconic Open-class bikes raced over the years have been way below the maximum displacement. The mid-sized, Open-class bike is really not a rare bird in light of the spectrum of motocross history. Perhaps no bike in recent history has engendered as much controversy, idle chatter and uninformed speculation as the KTM 350SXF. The stock 2011 KTM 350SXF weighs 237 pounds. |
